Mission Statement: Stage Hands mission is to provide excellence in theatrical interpreting services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

Stage Hands offers a comprehensive service package to support theaters in providing accessible entertainment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing patrons. Services include:

• Experienced Sign Language Interpreters. Stage Hands provides Sign Language Interpreters skilled in the art of performance interpreting for theatrical productions.
  
  
• American Sign Language (ASL) Sign Master. Given the complexity of the translation from English to ASL and the desire to convey all the creative and sometimes technical nuances of a theater piece, Stage Hands provides talented Deaf native users of ASL as language consultants for each production. The sign master works with the interpreters to assist in the translation process.
  
  
• Publicity and Community Outreach. We work with members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community to promote interpreted performances. We also consult with the theater's publicity department to create and distribute marketing materials specifically targeted to this audience.
  
  
• Technical Assistance. We consult with the theaters to identify preferred seating and sight lines for Deaf and Hard of Hearing patrons, as well as lighting and positioning for the performance interpreters. We also work with theater staff members so they can provide appropriate communication access options for Deaf patrons purchasing tickets, selecting seating and for any other box office communication needs that might arise.
